Course Overview
In this course, you will explore the practical techniques required for effectively building custom headless storefronts that unlock the power of composable commerce. You will examine the BigCommerce APIs that support custom storefronts, as well as workflows for effectively navigating catalog data, managing carts, and authenticating and maintaining customer sessions. You will get hands-on with these workflows in your own Next.js front-end implementation.
Course Objectives
- Identify the different kinds of GraphQL authentication and the use cases appropriate for each
- Explore possible channel strategies and other configurations in your BigCommerce store to facilitate headless storefronts
- Identify GraphQL operations to support storefront catalog pages, customer operations, and cart operations
- Identify application workflows for authenticating customers, tracking their sessions, and managing a cart
