The initial integration we’ve built into Google’s Vertex AI Search for retail focuses on the product recommendations functionality.

We have not focused on building the capabilities that unlock the search functionality. We don’t support Google’s search functionality in our GraphQL Storefront API and send only a subset of the product catalog data, which limits the utility of this search functionality.

In the future, we will consider improving the integration to better unlock this search functionality.
